Blinker problems

Front passenger side has running light but no flasher light which is also causing neither flasher to work left or right.
problems started month ago with no rear running or license plate lights. I found area in wiring harness where someone had cut and butt connected in rear above area where rear brake hose connects to bracket. Only wires cut black, brown, green red trace, can't remember other one black red trace?
all butts corroded breaking just regular connector not sealed shrink, while fixing stripping wires back still corrosion within the wires green, white crusty stuff.
so get all connected again running and license lights are back on.
month later the problem i have now front rt blinker not working, running light works.
I went back under rear where wires were cut and found i had missed a broken wire, im old cant see so well anymore, i dont remember what wire color was but repaired it and everything works front blinker back on.
Month later front blinker not working again run light on no blink left of right.
If i turn on hazard flashers all work except front rt.
What iv done
Checked bulb/ good
cleaned bulb socket good
Auto parts guy tried new flasher fuse/relay? The round one in fusebox.
now concentrating on front rt socket

Has 3 wires black, brown and white with blue tracer.
Wire coatings are cracked wire seems intact.
found replacement socket at parts store.
The socket is blade type not a round base, all my lights are round base, every time iv bought replacement bulbs they try to give me a blade type.

I have a 7 way trailer light connector that is very corroded, i unhooked it from battery years ago.
It had a short started melting plastic where wires go into socket after someone decided to use loop in wires for a step.
Can i just cut this socket off without any problems?
wiring diagram shows trailer light connector back there
I can kind of see where wires maybe connect to it, looks more like connectors that you pinch on a wire to run a jumper from. Lots of wires in this area.
Any help will be appreciated
Hope your enjoying the holidays

I believe the ground for those lights is located under the hood near the passenger headlight area. At least on my 91 it is. You might try cleaning that up and see what happens.

will check ground
Does have park light working
Brown and black wires are common at four corners the third wire different colors runs to flasher fuse.
electrical not my best
88 trucks suppose to have blade base bulbs, mine has round use 1156/7 bulbs.
When looking at parts stores online it shows 1987 trucks have round base, maybe they had extra inventory before switch to blade and they continued to use till gone.
going to try using multimeter, think metal outside ring inside socket is negative and the 2 contacts in the bottom are park and flasher, then start back probing the white w blue trace.
what is a good way to probe a wire, stick a needle through insulation then touch needle?

electrical not your best? I am captain of that team. However, the needle is best used to back probe and use alligator clips on your meter.

There's 2 flasher relay's (round) they are stacked(lack of better word) on each other, 1 in fuse panel, 1 in same spot behind fuse panel, have plenty of bandaids, one is for hazards, one is for blinkers.
