Recently my Son and I acquired a 1991 F150 manual Trans with A/C It wouldn't start with key so you had to use long needle nose plyers to move the rod to start and stop it. I got the new actuator for it. Starting taking everything apart and that is where the disaster started. I fixed the slider that engages the gear in the collar. We noticed that someone had been into this before and completely destroyed the right tilt mechanism pin. I got the left one out with a slide hammer but the left side is mangled to sh. I have no idea how to get it out without damaging the tilt mechanism. Apparently instead of using a slidehammer to remove the pin they tried to drive it forward. The lock actuator was broken into a few pieces. One part is still in the hole of course it won't come out. Can't drive it backwards? Sorry for the long post from someone who just signed up
I thought I would stop and ask for advice before broke something. Pictures of truck to come

When I used to rebuild columns after doing a repo with a force tool back in the mid 90's those pins had a tool pulled them out with force.......Sometimes the owners wanted to play hardball an they didnt realize Im Alumni of the School of Hard Knocks...LOL
You can use a 3/8" drive long 5/8" sparkplug socket a 2 1/2" long screw with a nut and a washer too
Maybe it might be easier getting a new column from the local pick n pull or ebay.............Good Luck
Got the pin out. Went to Oriellys and got the OTC brand puller. Ran a tap into the threads in the pin and used the tool. Worked great It appears that the threads are M4x0.7. Got the rest of the broken bits out. But The new actuator won't go in far enough. Even when the crosspin is all the way down Something is preventing the actuator from being pushed in it gets very tight and won't go any farther. I don't see anymore broken pieces of the actuator but I am going to have do some more disassembling to figure this out. Maybe there is still a broken piece of the old actuator way down in the hole.
Truck will now start with key. I installed a new turn signal switch and now I have turn signals and hazards on the right but no left turn signals or left side hazard lights.
