I've never owned a 2017+ SD so I don't know exactly how the front headlights function, when turned on are all 4 headlights on at the same time at a lower wattage? Or are the low beams separate from high beams when turned on/off?
im looking at ordering some Hikari led bulb replacements today using some online deals but I don't know if wattage output is an issue or if I need to find bulbs that are designed to be ran on 2 different power levels? Or can I just get 2 of the same pair and it'll be fine?
The SD halogens are 9008/H13 dual filament (low and high beam) bulb. The truck does use a total of four of these . Two on each side. All four bulbs work in unison on low/high beam. In other words, when on low beam, all four bulbs use their low beam filament. Switching to high beam, all four use their high beam. Yes, you'll need four (two pairs) of the same bulb.
One guy's opinion on the Hikari: I've had them for quite some time now and really like them. Adjust them right and you should be pleasantly surprised without blinding oncoming motorists.
