It's time to start the rebuild process now that all the parts are here.
So what is the best method for getting the bed plate all sealed up on a new rebuild?
Did you use the Ford stuff or something else? What was it that you used?
I've used TA-31 on the outer edges of most of the cord gaskets. It's the only silicone formulated to not affect engine oil from foaming from my 7.3 days. Others have used things like the "Right Stuff." When asked, Permatex says they do not have any product like TA-31. The other thing TA-31 is known for is tenacity.
DO NOT USE THE ANAEROBIC SILICONE THAT WAS PROMOTED FOR THE BEDPLATE!!!!
I tried it when I put my original crank back in (before I knew it was mis-ground), and when I replaced the crank, the anaerobic was never fully cured due to the slight remaining air contact. It was a good mess throughout that layers sandwich of steel and aluminum.
Yet one more reason to get a tube of the Ford TA-31.

friends of the 6.0L.
The Ford spec is nothing but the cord gasket. At the time I put it on both side of the cord; I've changes since then and just put the TA-31 on the outside of the gasket when I use it.

Jack, I do not understand what you mean, my English is unfortunately too bad.
The linked sealant does not dissolve in oil, it just needs time to solidify for 24 hours.
I have used it for many years in every engine and transmission where there is something to seal, even in conjunction with O-rings and paper gaskets.
The TA-31 was specifically formulated for the HEUI injector system, to not interfere with the anti-foaming agents put in diesel motor oil.
When I used to maintain the huge database of 7.3L oil analysis on TDS, occasionally you would see people having kicked up silicone contamination. Some also noted more "cackle" to their engine, which was a big concern at the time. Usually those who noticed the issue and also worked on their valve covers, using to fix the injectors that came loose.
Most of the time I used other sealants with engines, transmissions, etc. But when I had the 7.3 and now with the 6.0, because of the HEUI system I'm only using the TA-31 were I place silicone. It's really high temperature, and it grabs whatever it's applied to, not like any other silicone or other sealant I've used. The big issue with it is that it has a very short shelf life, which is printed on the cartridge.
If I was working on a gas engine or another diesel without HEUI, I'd use what I personally like.
How could we test this? Put any parts stuck together with the above-mentioned agents in hot engine oil?

Not a path I care to go down. I looked through what Permatex offers, I called and asked if they had a similar product, specifically about the oil issue and did not get a confident response. It's easier for me to use what Ford offers for this specific engine. I buy a tube, I use it, I through it away. I paid $11.36 for it the last time, it's a disposable to me. I'm not flipping a lot of 7.3s or 6.0s.
I've had a hard time with that too. Most times I have these little sleeves that work well with caulk or silicone; not that great here. Going Neanderthal, I've been using a nail and sealing tape, that seems to be a little better. This stuff just surprises me. I've had good luck with the tube condoms for a long time, so I hadn't tried other things. Maybe it's due to the Alkoxy-cure.
