Option code/name.

In the early seventies I worked with a gentleman who owned a Ford van with Double doors in back and on both curb and drivers side. It was the only one I ever saw with doors on both sides. He told me he special ordered it that way. I tried looking up such an option but can't find anything. Does anyone have information on when this was offered or an option code for drivers side doors?

From WIKI : Through its production, the first-generation Ford Econoline was offered in several variants. Alongside the standard six-door cargo van, an eight-door version (adding two doors on the driver side) was added for 1963. For 1964, a panel van was introduced, deleting side loading doors altogether. For 1965, a "Super Van" extended-length body was introduced, extending the body 18 inches behind the rear axle. Econoline cargo vans (except panel vans) were offered with or without side windows in several configurations.

I'm not sure if you could factory order an 8 door van in the 70's and I don't find any related material that says you could.

Thank you. Although I worked with Pap in the early 70s his van was several years old at that time. I remember he told me he ordered it because he had to park tight to the buildings at some places and could not open the passenger side doors. Thanks again.
