I see you serve 1968 and newer vans. I just purchased a 1966 E160 van and I can't seem to find much information. I thought this van was really interesting because it has cargo doors on both passenger and drivers side as well as the rear doors. Can anyone tell me where I can go to get information.
unfortunately i don't, but.....there are some older econo owners here. are you able to post pics? this sounds like an interesting van. is it styled the same as the econo 150's?

Never saw a FORD Econoline that "has cargo doors on both passenger and drivers side" of any vintage.
Might be "really interesting" to see pics of such a van.

I also have a 1966 E160 ford econoline van with double doors on both the passenger and driver side as well as the rear. Every dealership I have called has no record of the vin number. I have been following this trail for years and this thread is the only other place I've ever heard of another one mentioned. So what i know (or think i know) so far is that they were commissioned for, I believe, at&t and northwest pacific bell, a phone company. They called it the ford fleet at that time, many ford vans were replacing utility trucks because of gas mileage. They even had campaigns on it. The doors on both sides were so more spools of phone line could be hauled and easily used. They were a deep forest green with a bell (the company logo) painted on it. They also had a ladder rack on the top. I have tried to trace down information by contacting the phone company that commissioned it, but, the company split and than I believe one dissipated and the other grew rather large. I called and they were unsure how they would find record of that information (if it existed) and or who if anybody could point me in the right direction. I have also contacted historical societies in some of the local areas where the vans were commissioned, with no luck unfortunately.

Sorry can't help much on the first gen Econoline/Falcon vans There is a First gen Econoline forum on this site, it's just combined with the Ranchero forum: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum43/
I have seen a few of the early Falcon/Econolines that had the cargo doors on both sides. All of them I've seen were old telephone company vans.
