Im swapping oit my leaky injector pump on my 1990 that was makin the truck not start(and was leakin fuel whenit did run last year down the motor). But the 2 spare working ones a freind gave me i noticed that the timing hear is hard to spin on one and the one i took off the motor(wanted to fix a timing cover leak at same time) spins easily.
Does that mean anything or not?
no idea, i have never removed that gear unless i was doing a total engine rebuild.
by removing the top cover and gear, you will have align the timing marks on all three gears, otherwise it will never run.
