Been having a real hard time locating gallon containers of Rotella T4. Been to all the major cities in North Florida. Finally found a 5 gallon container at TSC. Maybe the current supply shortages will improve over time.
Been that way here for about 2 months. NAPA can't get it. I personally won't run that trash in my 7.3L but with all of the loitering at my local store that I do, I see a lot of angry people....on both sides of the parts counter because of it.
If I go through the parts store and they have my Motorcraft 15w-40 5 quart jugs I grab a few of them. That way I have it when I need it.
Right now I have oil for four changes not counting the planed one this weekend if the weather is nice.
There are shortages on all sorts of things, petroleum products are not the only ones that are becoming very scarce or very high priced. Everything from food products to household items to automotive/RV parts. Some of it is caused by ignorance, some by misinformation, some by hysteria and some by supply chain issues.
I have plans to go to TSC on the 11th to purchase 4 gallons of Travellers 15w40 for the next UOA after I empty the Rotella T6 5w40, but that may be a wasted trip to town. I guess I could swing by and pick up some IPA along the way to make it worth it.
We are now experiencing some delays in diesel shipments in Arizona and New Mexico along I-40. Last week the truck lanes at the major truck stops in Flagstaff were shut down and trucks were lined up along the frontage road waiting. I also heard the same about Albuquerque, and it was reported that some trucks went to Costco to get fuel. I hope we can pull out of this mess soon but I am doubtful of it. There's info on Facebook but I am not on Facebook so I can't read it, or even see the date on it: https://www.google.com/search?q=dies...hrome&ie=UTF-8
I am a dispatcher at the largest petroleum transport company in the US. We have been having issues with Husky products as well as Marathon. We have been put on daily allocation limits to how much we can pull out of the loading racks, and its really hampering our job performance. I do not foresee any improvement over the upcoming "slower" months either. Still not having issues up here in the Ohio/PA/WV area getting the fuel from stations, but it is trending in the wrong direction for sure.
Boom, for wanting a certain type of earl, you have been tagged as a domestic miscontent, put your hands in the circles by the door and the cleaner will be over in a uxmtdrowoss
I bought Rotella at Tractor Supply here in Georgia a few weeks ago, when I saw it was on the shelve.... I had noticed no one seemed to have it in stock lately, so I grabbed it when I saw it !
Distribution changes probably due to below helped to cause a lot of problems... or the Saudi's just letting us know they still have us by the *****...
Saudi Aramco, through its wholly owned Saudi Refining, Inc. subsidiary, will assume full ownership of Motiva Enterprises, the refinery at Port Arthur, Texas, and 24 distribution terminals. As part of the deal, Motiva can exclusively sell “Shell-branded gasoline and diesel in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., as well as the eastern half of Texas and the majority of Florida.”
Royal Dutch Shell completed the permanent shutdown of its Convent, Louisiana, refinery that supplied refined oil and diesel products for the southern US in Dec 2020.
