2022 F350 6.7l
This is my first diesel, so forgive me for my lack of knowledge. Is it normal on these engines when you press the gas, to get a slight delay before you fill the engine actually kick i? It seemingly has a half a econd to a second delay if you smash the gas to say pass someone on the highway.
assuming this is normal in comparison to my 2014 6.2l gasser. Thanks all
On my 2017 F250 diesel I noticed a slight lag in throttle response. I was not used to that coming from 20 years of riding with Cummins under the hood. I changed out the factory air filter for a life-long high flow filter, which I had done for the last 20 years. I did this for an economical benefit as well as better breathing for the diesel. Manufacturers typically have the air intake restricted too much. As a spin-off benefit, the throttle lag is gone. I have 140,000 kms. on the truck now. I like the gain in air flow and better throttle response.
There’s some delays built in based on engine operating temps. When warm, if i mash the peddle, the tires break loose so the off the line delay if any isn’t a problem.
