I got this message

I got a check engine light again like last week. (Have not drove in a week), cleared the codes. Is this just the nox sensor acting up? Whats weird is it did not go into any drrate mode. It drives fine, i pulled the scanner out and cleared the codes. I take its the nox sensor.

have you had the recall completed for the reprogramming of the PCM?

Scan for codes?

yes it was updated last month. It was there for 5 weeks. My code reader doesn't read any codes other then o2 sensor bank one it says. Can't remember the number, might be 2099. I called ford last Tuesday and they said the engine light was for a nox sensor and it will derate it self. It has not yet. I cleared the code so no engine lights currently. It will come back though.

Need the exact code.
And, since you keep clearing the codes, I take it this truck is not under warranty anymore?

no it's 16 months old 23,600 miles, it's still under full warranty, the problem is the dealer is 45 mins from my house, to ever do a damn thing I have to drive it there, leave it with them for this time they claim 2-3 days, find a ride back home, and inconvenience someone, then go back to get it, and it always sits for longer then they claim. Last time 5 weeks (from first week if aug- 2nd week of sept.), I use the truck to tow with, I was towing all the same weight with my 22 f350 srw, but don't want to wear it out. Ì keep thinking all the bugs will get worked out of this f450, but still hasn't happened yet. This damn "brand new f450" is more damn maintenance and hassle then the duramax with 235k on it that it replaced. So I figure clear the codes and prolong it bwcuase I can bet you money next month it will have a new issue of some sort. And I can just take it in then.i just don't want to get caught by surprise and it go on limp mode on me, as I was 3hrs from home today taking one kf my machines in for a major warranty fix as they hydraulics **** the bed. I have a really busy next 4 weeks with moving crap around, really don't want to sit at the dealer.

But, I contemplated just deleting it, (found the delete kit for 22s), but they said it will void all warranty on everything, and i know if i delete it loose the warranty, I'll get some issue and I'll be screwed. 1st diesel ever i have had emissions issues with as with a Ford. Gm did but it was 1st year and 200k miles and not as good of a system as Ford, and many more reasons.

That one dealer is the only one in the area?
And, I know about being without your truck, mine was out of my hands for 6 of the last 10 weeks, and I more than know about the inconvenience of getting back and forth from the dealer, one that I dealt with is 650 miles from my house.
My closest dealer, 20 miles away, uses Uber for its courtesy shuttle, and they pay for it, both ways.
Also, would still be interested in the exact code it posted.

The one i like to use is the one 45 mins away. The other dealer is 50 mins north of me, one is 50 mins east of me and the other one is 50 mins west of me, The hole in the ground ford dealer 15 mins from me, they can't service it "becuase I didn't buy it there". They are losers, and the other on 35 mins away, give you the run around, are are terrible in service.
I have to drive it tomorrow around 100 miles total, half empty, rest with 30,000lbs so I'm sure I can get the codes.
yep, i know it sucked worse for you as you only have one truck, atleast i have other trucks I can use.
here was the other message I got as well at the same time.

But, if I know it won't just eventually go into limp mode, I'll just live with the check engine light. I just want to make sure it's not having a glitch, or when it does a hard set unclearable code it put it into limp mode.

Do you have a good newer code reader, or an older/basic one? In my experience the Basic ones don't always read all codes - mine couldn't read the 'keep alive memory' code on my '04, but the code reader built into the tuner could. If you're using ForeSCAN then you should be able to read everything.

I get it about the local dealership sometimes being junk, but they're lying when they tell you they can't work on it because you didn't buy it there - if they're a Ford dealership they CAN, they just are choosing NOT to, and I wouldn't trust them further than I could throw their manager.

The dealer I use is another 15 minutes up the road, the wonderful part about them is that if you can't wait around (or it's going to be a long time) they'll put you in a free loaner, usually a newer trade-in. The last time I had one I had a year-old Laramie LImited Ram 1500...it kinda spoiled me.

Might want to ask that dealer you are working with if they'd consider doing a decent loaner of some kind since they're going to have your truck for at least a few days. They might go for it.

Code came back p2209, nox sensor bank 1 I believe, is what it says.

I started it up today, and it high idled, (have not drove it in a week), it immediately started a regen. I let it run for 10 mins, it was hot. 195 degree oil temp when I turned it off. I've never had it do a high idle stationary reburn.

My old 2018 does high idle mode since a reflash at ford 1.5 years ago, but never my 22.
I cleared the codes again so were good to go. Hopfully.
