Just purchased a 2018 King Ranch. Looking to install window vent visors and a hood bug deflector. I plan to get the “in-channel” vent visors. For the hood deflector I’ve seen 2 types; one that mounts underneath the hood and does not contact the front edge, and one that tapes to the top edge of the hood. I really like the look of the low profile (taped) style, but I’m concerned at taping something to the hood. Does anybody have any experiences, good or bad with them?
The dealership that I use to work for, sold one of the tape on shields, a week later, the customer went down the road, the shield came off, and broke his windshield !! FWIW

You have to clean the paint surface well with rubbing alcohol on the areas where the mounting tape sticks. Then you have to press firmly to make sure that the entire surface of the tape is sticking to the paint. If you stick one one a waxed or ceramic coated hood, it will come off.
