Last week I finally got my truck in for problem number 1. The lumbar bag on the drivers set busted. There were hints that I must have overfilled it and caused the damage. I did not. Well when they were repairing it the found that too much heat was applied to a seam during manufacturing and it burst along that seam. They replaced the airbag and started on:
Problem 2. The passenger side rear window rattled, sometimes to the point that I thought the glass would break. The dealer pulled the door panel and found . . .a half full bottle of drinking water inside. They removed it and we all had a good laugh when I went to pick it up. ( I’m laughing that I paid what I paid for a loaded F-450 King Ranch and a d@#m water bottle came with it.)
I guess there is little to comment on in this post. I just had a tale to tell and thought of the warm, caring community of FTE. If crying and laughing are the available emotions, chose laughing, it always turns out better.
As far as the seat lumbar being overfilled, my understanding is that the overfilling is not possible, it cuts off before that can happen.
So, if they wanted to blame that on you, I'd sure tell them that was BS.
On the other deal with the water bottle, those people working the assembly line aren't even supposed to have anything like that near them as they are assembling those components. That's someone looking to lose their job!
Of course, you used to hear all those stories of guys on the line leaving stuff in vehicles on purpose, like a marble or nut dropped into some hole, and getting a big chuckle out of it, thinking about it rattling and driving the owner nuts.
As to the RV's, you'd be amazed at how sloppy some of those production plants are where they build them, and how fast they slap them together.
