AXZD plan commission?

Hi all-was finalizing paper work on new 2022 I ordered with X plan pricing. The x-plan price is invoice like I expected but they tacked on a $1k charge for “AXZD Plan commission “. Is that right? I bought via x plan a few years ago and I don’t remember that coming in as a charge. Plus the agreement on x plan specifically states ford agrees to pay the dealer the commission in effect under the applicable plan.

am I missing something? Is that normal for that large of a charge on x-plan pricing? Or is the dealer pulling one over on me since they didn’t get to make it up over sticker (this was a truck I ordered in June)

No, totally wrong, dealer screwing you over if they are adding that on top of X-plan pricing.
X-Plan specifically spells out what the charges are.

The deceptive things some dealers do to screw the customer never ceases to amaze me. If the dealer agreed to X plan pricing, that is all they can charge you, plus up to $100 (might be higher now) doc fee. I hope you haven't paid it yet. If you did, I would contact Ford directly and complain loudly. The dealer has strict rules to follow for any plan pricing. If you paid it, I'm sure Ford can place the proper pressure on the dealer to refund it.

this is from the email I received when I received my pin.

Complete the purchase or lease agreement and arrange for delivery.
  • Sign the AXZD-Plans Pricing Agreement and Customer Cash Payment Authorization form
  • In addition, a $275 administration fee is included in the Plan price to cover the costs of managing the New Vehicle Purchase Program (this amount should NOT be added to the X-Plan price).

The X plan price includes the $275 admin fee. The dealer is allowed to charge a separate documentation fee which is capped at $100 back when I bought my truck. I think I read a post on this forum where that cap may have been increased to $150.

X plan price is Invoice Price minus 0.4% plus $275 admin fee.

yeah your right on the 275. Sorry for any confusion. I pulled this off the x-plan partner site a few minutes ago. It is a $100 max unless you live in a state that allows less than $100.

24. Can I be charged a “document fee” (doc fee) by my dealer?

Yes. Dealers will be permitted to assess up to $100 in documentary fees on each delivery to an eligible purchaser under the terms of the Plan, unless otherwise provided by state or local laws or regulation. Each dealer is responsible for complying with applicable laws or regulations.
  • What if I am in a state that allows the dealer to charge more than $100?
Unless otherwise provided by state or local laws or regulation: In states where dealers are not permitted to charge as much as $100 for doc fees, dealers would be capped at the lesser amount as provided by the state. In states that permitted more than $100, dealers would be permitted to charge the Plan customer $100. In states that permitted more than $100 and also required that all customers be charged the same amount, dealers may charge the Plan customer $100 and indicate any additional fees have been paid by Ford Motor Company or Lincoln Motor Company as part of the AXZD-Plan Program dealer reimbursement on the buyer's order.
  • How does this change the $275 administration fee?
There is no change. The $275 administration fee covers costs of managing the New Vehicle Purchase Program.

I'm truck shopping right now. I'm finding that some dealers aren't moving off of MSRP and refusing to honor X Plan. Which I guess is their right. Just like it's my right to move on to another dealer, which I've done.

If a dealership is trying to add on to or modify plan pricing outside of what has been posted here report them to Ford.

The fuel charge is part of the invoice price so it is already included in plan price.

I spent a good part of yesterday trying to buy my wife an explorer. The key to x plan is, know the program. These dealers will try all kinds of things they know are wrong. I ended up buying the vehicle only because it was exactly what the wife wanted. The plan was followed to the letter and Im surprised as nasty as the conversation got they didnt tell me never mind. Where they did get me was on $700 worth of dealer add ons they wouldnt remove wheel locks and some kind of brake treatment. In the end I got my trade value and x plan so shell be happy. Me, ifelt like I won the war.

I thought dealers weren't allowed to adjust the pricing whatsoever when using a A/Z/D/X Plan pricing?
