Can I get some help from the VIN whisperer? You all got a great forum here. I read this string and I thought my engine is a 360 (FE), but from reading this it may be a 330 (FT) or at least when it left the factory. How to tell the difference between FE/FT if they look alike? Another oddity is my truck is branded F700, but the VIN shows otherwise. VIN: F60DVP61439
M = Clark model 285V five speed direct transmission
E2? The last digit has a straight left side. B or D. D is far heavier than required for this GVWR, so let's say B. E2 = E2: Eaton model 16244 2-speed / 6.17/8.58 ratios / 17,500 lb. rear axle capacity
B = Ford 5,500lb capacity front axle
19200 = 19,200 lbs GVWR
164 3800 = 164 Certified Net HP @ 3800 RPM
210865
21 = Atlanta District Code
0865 = Special Order Number. The engine, color, transmission & axle codes are present, so the special order was something else.

It appears your door may have been replaced and the old warranty plate reattached with non-oem rivits. The hood probably came along with the doors and with it the F700 badges. Does your title read with the VIN above?
FE and FT engines are based on the same design and can look similar. Yours, as OEM, is the HD version which means you have the larger snout (1 3/4" vs 1 3/8") on the crank and the larger distributor drive. Externally, the exhaust manifolds on the FT have two extra bolts in the center which secure the exhaust crossover port. The intake differ as the crossover ports are in the center, vs. offset on the FE. Front covers for the FT are cast or steel and are used as the front motor mount. Bells are cast and have the rear motor mounts on each side. Flywheels and clutches are bigger with the FT.
It is possible to replace an FT with an FE with the front cover & bell changes and a few other mods.
I have it registered as a 1974, but since I'm in Alabama there were no titles back then so I guess no harm in leaving it, but I'll correct it when I sell it. Thanks for the help.
