I have a 95 F150 with the 5.8 and I am having an issue with the temp guage. So far I have replaced the sending unit for the guage twice. I also grounded out the sending wire and it pegged the needle when I did so. I have also pulled the cluster out and cleaned it. When I am driving it, I get up to the N, but nothing more and even that is not consistent. Today I tried the second sending unit and it didn’t work, so I tried taping on the dash and that caused the needle to move up. My question is, am I correct in assuming it’s the guage or circuit board with a bad connection. If so, is there a way to pin point which one I should look at.

Should be pretty easy to diagnose.
If you haven't taken your gauge cluster out before, it seems like a daunting task, but is pretty easy after you have done it a couple times.
I'd start there, take the gauge cluster out, 2 big plugs at the back, and your drive indicator two screws at the front, lots of videos taking one out.
Now that it is out, do a visual inspection, pay close attention the plugs and connection cleanliness. Use a pencil eraser to clean contact surface, and then use the leaded end over the surface.
Put your gauge cluster back in, plugs in etc. See if it fixes the problem.
If not, the problem could be deeper in the gauge cluster, or even a connection issue to the computer.
I'm not sure if wires are split to go from temp sender to computer and gauges, or temp sender to gauge to computer.
Time to start collecting electrical schematics, then you can do pin point tests, and rule out what does work.
