Oil pump
Hi there everyone I'm me to this and learning as I go, reading what I can been dwelling for awhile!
I have a question I was hoping someone could answer !!
I purchased a timing kit from an online shop and They have worked out so far! BUT today I get to the oil pump and I'm stuck! It seems that when I go to match it up to the motor gasket and oil pick up line neither seem to match in shape quite The same ! Oval VS Sq. If you get what I mean
it says that this it is a match for my truck
SORRY ( 2004 FORD F150 - NOTORIOUS BUGS
5.4. 3VALVE LARIAT FOUR DOOR SHORT BED WITH SUPER CAB 240,000 MLS ROUGHLY!
But it doesn't look it that's for sure my it number is 3L3Z8501CA Thune pump it's self I don't see the 3V on it like all time ones I've seen in videos installed ! Not sure that matters really it may still cover the gasket spots with different shapes I haven't tried but but I'm thinking someone has gone thru this lol ! So please help me out if anyone can and thank you in advance either way.

I would only use the melling hv 340 pump with a good oring to the oil pickup . I can't compare with what you have in hand . That oil pump is the most important part on this engine . Be careful lining it up on crank ,do not force it . You can break it especially with the bolts of not seated properly . Do prime the pump .
don't use any part that you are not sure of -melling is the best .
Clean your oil pan and oil pickup real well , its a must do - no oil flow destroys engine new parts and old . Use melling steel ratcheting chain tensioners with no seal to blow , do not use the metal plates that may come with them for older vehicles . No gasket no sealers .
