2013 F250 Steering problem
So for a couple months now I’ve been having this issue. Whenever i turn and straighten out i get a very aggressive pull to the side i turned too and then once i straighten out and over correct it hooks and pulls to the opposite side. The pull is so bad that if I wasn’t white knuckling the steering wheel id end up in a ditch. And the only way to temporarily fix the issue is to pull over and go lock to lock. But right before i hit full lock on both sides i hear/feel a clunk and then my steering feels as if it loosens up and then i dont have the issue until i turn again.
So far i have replaced the steering gearbox, steering damper shock, all of the tierods, connecting sleeves and drank link and drank link bushing
I have checked my ball joints and wheel bearings and i dont have any play in them, i jacked my truck up and shook the wheels and they were all tight. I also sprayed WD40 onto my U-joint that goes from my steering wheel to gearbox. I have a 4” lift with 35x12s and rotated the tires but unsure if that would be the problem
I have ran out of ideas and solutions so if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!
scared me so much that I had it towed back to the shop because I didn't know what was happening and didn't want to crash. I thought a steering component had broken.
Turned out that the tie rod had to be adjusted.
you say that you checked your tie rods, maybe check them again. Might not be the issue, but just wanted to pass along my experience.
