Vinyl Floor

Hello when I bought my 1975 ford f250 there was no carpet or the vinyl floor over the painted metal floor just floor mats in them know. Does anyone know where to buy the vinyl flooring to install in the truck and do you havr to put the soundproofing material underneath of it. I dont want carpet because it absorbs water?

I used a vinyl floor from LMC I believe. I through away the padding that came with it. I used Noico 315mil on top of some foil covered Butal deadening mat. Neither will soak up water and both are self sticking. Very pleased with end result.

The original floor was rubber and only covered the footwells and sills. DC make an exact replacement like that if you're looking for full authenticity. It also was originally installed over a jute fiber pad, so in a way it was worse than carpet because water would get under it and never evaporate.

Did the original one cover around my stuck shift on the floor as well and if I did go with the rubber floor shoud I just put the rubber down and not the jute fiber pad. I really dont need it I think because the truck is already quite and doesnt really need sound proofing. Also heat is awesome in it. I would rather have a little nosier truck than take a chance with rusted floors my floor pans right know are like brand new. Or what would you do carpet or just rubber mat with no pad?

If you are looking for a DD and not a show truck, I boxed up my original rubber mat (from a low-tunnel auto so no shifter hole) for another member which he then decided not to use - I just want it gone. You pay postage, it's yours. PM me if interested and I will send pics etc.

I bought the LMC vinyl flooring for my '73 regular cab that had original vinyl flooring and I'm not happy with the look, I was hoping it would look more original. I laid it out onto the concrete driveway so the sun would take out the folds, I placed some boxes under it to simulate the trans tunnel and the front of the floors for it to relax to. My son and I then moved it to the cab and I decided I didn't want to use it. I never trimmed it or cut any holes, looking to sell it and try to recoup some of the money if you're interested. I'm in central Oklahoma.

I'm in the process of doing that. What insulation and foam did you use and where'd you get it?
