428 build

I am building a 428 and looking for cam choices. It will be mostly stock (4 bbl, intake). Wondering what choices would be good for a tourqe cam for truck pulling or just lots of low end power. Also what factory heads would be the best?

Added: The heads on it are C7TE-C, Motor was an irrigation motor on natural gas

l Brent Lykins at Lykins Motorsports. I had him get me a custom grind for my 428 and it's absolutely perfect.

I will never use a flat tappet or a generic cam again. the cost difference is so minimal it's simply a no brainer.

As I understand it; make sure your not boring out a 427 block. thin walls. need an original block.

X3 with the custom grind from Brent, I'm going with him for the cam in a 428 for my Fairlane. He is very highly recommended across all Ford FE forums. You might google C6AE-6090R (also C7AE) heads as with a little investment they can put out some pretty respectable numbers nearing Cobra Jet territory. They are always on craigslist and came on 66 T-Birds, GT Fairlanes, Galaxies and others. Below is a link for a 428 build using these heads. Definitely worth a look. There are a few pairs in the ads below.
