I have a family member that will give me the Z-Plan (Retirement Plan) for my new Super Duty Lariat. Does anyone have any idea what that may save me on a truck that the MSRP is around $80,000?
MSRP on my truck was around $74k and with Z Plan it was a little under $67k. I was going to use X Plan before I discovered I could use Z Plan, and I believe the Z Plan cut around $3,600 off X Plan. Its hard to beat that kind of deal.
I think the formula is multiply MSRP x 0.908 or pretty close to it. In my case the discount was about $4,980.
But add to that sales tax savings and all the junk fees you don't have to pay. Sales tax (here in GA) on $4980 is about $324, junk fees would have been about $800 typically.
So that's 4980 + 324 + 800 = 6104. A/Z saved me about $6104 on a MSRP of $54150 Your experience will vary state to state and how much junk fee you can avoid.
Also, having a trade (in GA) will save you sales taxes. Tax is computed on agreed upon value difference between new truck and trade. Only the cash that changes hands is taxed. Something to think about before you private sell your current truck.
Holdback is no longer 3% IIRC. KU4OJ's calculation is pretty close/slightly high. For my truck the dealer wasn't able to pull any of the plan pricing until after Ford built it, and invoiced them for it. That hopefully has changed now. Yes my sales guy knew how to pull the pricing details in WBDO. They just weren't there. MSRP on my truck was ~$82k, after Z it was ~73k.
When I had the dealer build my truck, they had printed the A/Z, and X Plan pricing on the bottom. Don't know if all the builds sheets have this but mine was outlined. The other thing my dealer mentioned, with the Z plan, I was not elegible for the 0% finance. This could be a local thing also. Just throwing things out there I had experienced.

I ordered my 2022 within a few days of the USOB opening. That was likely the issue.
