Ok thanks. What lift do you have and which 5125's you get?
V / Mod B because that was the flavor of the month before the Procomp setup was well known- but both put you at a similar ride height.
I have 33-186542 fronts and 33-185569 rears.
I actually just ordered the remainder of my swap parts for my '05 axle. I'm pairing that front axle with +2.5" springs to match the Procomp rear. Keeping my rear shocks and going to the 33-230351 in the front.
Thanks Pirate. I measured my full drop from eye to eye and it's about 30'. The 33-185569 you pictured has expanded length of 29.7. If I used this shock and fully extended my travel, would I damage the shock? I like that this shock is 17.91" compressed instead of 20" on the 5100.
I've been looking into Fox shocks as well. Opinions?
off road, if or when the rear wheels come off the ground aka a jump, pretty likely depending on how close your “about 30” measurement is.
this is why you see Limit straps on vehicles used off road, Do not let the shock be the limit strap
fwiw, To run fox ( or king ect ) shocks with spherical ball mounts you need a bar pin adapter, carli makes these but they are to tall for my needs so i made my own
ideally 1/2” longer shock then full droop is your goal, Or 1” short on the limit strap as they stretch.
So you can use these for shocks that need bar pins.
I suppose I can use these to increase my shock length another inch as well if they aren't long enough for my full droop. But then I would decrease the compression by an inch as well.
