sticking IPR?

sticking IPR?

At very light throttle the OX is surging then backing off to normal. This is only happening at 10-15 mph driving. If I take it out on the open road and give some WOT then it acts normal for a few days. I'm thinking sticking IPR or TPS acting up?

Hey Glenn. Have you watched your duty cycle and pressure when it happens?

I’d agree with checking duty cycle and ICP pressure first. But I bet you’re right with the ipr sticking

I've not had great luck rebuilding the IPR.

Hi Darin, no I haven't looked at that but I will. Ran it all day hard and it ran good. Thanks

Thanks man, I had one stick closed on me once on a bridge. I'm just getting to the point that I worry about everything that might strand me.

That's what I have learned, to tight of tolerances. I think this winter I'll replace it and a few other sensors.

Me too man mine left me right on the side of the highway. No bueno. Luckily I had Manuel transmission to force the motor back to life. Back when she had cooked batteries

I got lucky that day by having just enough momentum to just barely roll off the bridge and there was a spot to pull off. Also luck had it I had a spare and got going again!

If you end up replacing the IPR, FordTruckNoob on the SD sub-forum linked a DT466 IPR as a possible alternative to the standard IPR. As you can see, there is not tin nut on the IPR. Just another option to consider.
