I have a intermittent issue with the throttle. when first starting the truck in the morning it is often very jumpy. When I push the peddle lightly the trucks jumps like I am rev it up and down. Sort of like when you see one of those newbies on TV trying to drive a stick for the first time.
You could start by checking the linearity of the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). If you have a multimeter, connect it to the TPS on the resistance setting and slowly open the throttle. You should see a steady, linear increase or drop in resistance as the throttle is opened or closed. If you see a sudden jump or drop in the resistance, there is a non-linearity in the sensor and needs to be replaced. I don't guarantee it will fix the problem though, but could easily be a contributor.
I'm assuming you don't have a check engine light on or a misfire, and that the engine idles smoothly....
