Upgrading reciever

Looking to upgrade receiver's on my 1999 F250 V10 4x4. I don't tow heavy, just looking to recreational tow. By recreational I'm thinking of renting some bumper pulls from Military MWR next summer. I would like a little more capacity over factory. Current ratings is 5k/10k, later years received larger hardware upping them to 6k/12k. Since my truck was stolen in April all of my tools and accessory's are gone which also makes me need a drop hitch, rather than having two I am thinking the Curt C45900. I had a 6" drop that worked for my Jet Ski trailer with 2" ball and a 4" drop for 2 5/16" ball. I know my wiring is good, used it several times over the last couple years, I have a Tekonsha P2 brake controller that works, I also have Airbags, not that they are needed; however I do need to fix the fittings as one side doesn't take air.

Any opinions or guidance to a similar product

I am thinking this Curt C14355 rated at 10k/12k:

Anyone have experience with Viair and there OBA systems? This will be a dual purpose setup. Tire filling for off-road, airbags on the truck and blow gun when needed.

Since everyone likes pictures here's a couple of my truck.

Look into Torklift. I had one on my 01 7.3 Excursion

I have used both Viair and ARB and prefer ARB. Jeep had the Arb twin since it had 37” tires. The Excursion and 2020 F350 both got the Arb single. Both have airbags, and train horns

Torklift is near by my house, I'll see what they recommend. A quick look at e-trailer and those Super Hitches are triple what the Curt is. Similar deal with the ARB dual, for the price of the compressor I can be into the VIAIR kit. These will not be frequently used items.

For a few bucks more this could be a viable option.

Class 3 will do all you want. Class 4 should be about the same price, would be a smart upgrade.

Viair and ARB are OK for airbags. They are very low volume and slow. If you want volume then you need a bigger compressor and a reservoir.
I have had several ARB's and am familiar with the different Viaair systems.
I run a 3/4 HP Thomas 12v compressor and a stand alone CO2 Powertank for tires. I leave the powertank at home when I don't bring the off road toys. Tow rig does fine with the 12v.

Decided against the Viair kit and went with a Viair 400p. Portablilty and transferring between vehicles is the idea here. I plan on making a dual tire deflator/inflator, later on this entire setup will be transferred to a Jeep or similar rig I can take to the woods and thrash on.

In place of the Curt drop adjustable hitch I ordered a GenY 7.5" drop dual ball. The price of the Curt was going up, reviews aren't stellar and I don't want to be stranded with a inferior product knowing my family and prize possessions could be attached. Although not a common problem, a noted problem. Also helps the GenY is made in the USA, $50 more for some USA steel is a win in my book.

I did purchase a Curt pin lock kit too, these won't be left in my truck due to the uprising in theft and the frequency of use.

Everyone likes pictures so this is a start

Completed a couple smaller projects for this recently. Made a inflator/deflator two tire kit, still need to make an adapter for the Viair compressor. I also installed my PMF Track bar and Daystar Airbag cradles. Since I had the drag link off, I went ahead and painted it black, a little less rust underneath.

Final update as @Squirrel13 recommended and persuaded I ended up going with a Torklift Super Hitch. This thing is super stout, great quality, powder coated everything, zinc coated hardware and the instructions are solid too. I took some time and painted underneath my truck, removing some rust and scale in the process. Some of the bracketry really aids in tieing the hitch to the frame. Plus it just looks fantastic.

In September one of my 34" tires had a blow out, ended up on the factory spare for a little while, the 34" did fit underneath but was rubbing the exhaust a 33" fits with a little bit of room, something to keep in mind. Unfortunately the tire plug kit didn't arrive at home until the next day and we were coming home from a camping trip.

Not just one, but two vertical frame web ties per side plate, fore and aft, at each flange bolting center?

This means that lower frame flange cannot peel or bend down.

There isn't another receiver hitch on the market for this application that provides that much backup.

Dang.

Wow, that's a nice one! I almost bought a Superhitch when I was still carrying a cabover, but one thing led to another and we ended up in an F-53 instead.
