I have the Thinkware front and rear cameras Ford sells. No problems with the setup so far. The front camera is tucked out of the way behind the rear view mirror and the rear camera sits just to the side of the sliding rear window. I bought it with Ford points and it was a quick and easy install taking around 15 minutes.

SkyBoss
can you get us a sample of some footage from your Ford Accessory System? If it works well, has good video night and day, and is ok on price… Ford approved.
does it auto save for accident
does it have printer security
can you stop recording the audio if wanted

what model of thinkware cam is it? Also what does it come with to wire it up
Thinkware has a different part number they use for the Ford model. The front facing only camera is the Thinkware model F70 (Ford DC-E1-FG); the other with the front and rear camera is the Thinkware F200. The F200 (built in WiFi) allows you to use a phone app to access the settings and view footage. The F70...you have to remove the memory card and use their viewer software on your PC to view the footage.
It is best to go online to the Thinkware site and look at the information in detail about the two models.
The Garmin Mini 2 is going to be returned. I like the app. Its 10000 times better than the Viofo app. The camera quality just isn't even close to the Viofo's that are in my kids trucks. And of course, there is no rear facing camera with the mini. Yes I am aware I can order another and pair it, but then that's twice the wiring etc. I have a Viofo A139 on order to replace the mini 2.

you going through all this has been a great experience for all the rest of us Texmudder.
cheers and let is know After the new system has been up for a short bit…. Let us know The good the bad and the ugly. I like that show🙂
Considering I have a A129 and A129 Pro already installed in two other trucks, I pretty much know the good, the bad, and the ugly. Install is very simple. Once installed using the app to set up the camera is easy as well. Just not a great app.

thank you Trexmudder
i like the three channel with three cameras for best documentation. And I saw some other guys like that one too. Are there different variations of that one too? I better look some more before I order. Did you order the A139 Pro?
There is not a A139 Pro out yet. I assume they will come out with one in time and retire the old form factor. Out of curiosity where would you be pointing the third channel? Most people use those in cabs and ubers to record their passengers. I cant fathom wanting to record myself alone in my truck.

i do not know if I will be able to do it but with my camper trailer hooked up, I would like to incorporate the third camera to document the ride or buffer of the rig in traffic. Recording the inside of the truck wouldn’t give me any benefit either. Haha.
thank you for sharing your knowledge on this system Texmudder. I’m trying to figure out everything I could do before I buy so I don’t buy twice or even thrice! lol
it happens
i like the watchdog function and somehow want to extend it to the camper with live footage for the whole rig front to back and some sides too. I saw a video… one of an angry trucker smacking his trailer into the side of a guy’s camper on the highway. Wow that was too much!!! Of course there is always a yin and yang involved in every turmoil.
i want to connect the power to lithium batteries that power the rig when boondocking and good stuff like that I do have to do some figuring for specific engineering but now I just want to know if it is possible to make use of the three channel system to do some of these things with all three videos to the same clock for legal assistance if ever needed. I want to know is this kind of recording is what this 3 cam system is meant for or could be used for. Both when driving or when out parked in the middle of nowhere if I were out on a hike. I could have my own free cloud local in the rig. Alerts would allow me to connect to the system and upload emergency safe data.
thank you thank you for anything you’ve experienced or anything you know about this kinda stuff
i could use two dual systems but they would not share the same clock ⏰
The longest cable that viofo shows for the third camera is 15 meters so it might work. The Garmin system can use Wi-Fi to sync up multiple cameras to act like they are one. That might be your best bet, but I cant say I tried that.
This has got me interested in installing a system, I believe a 2 camera system at a minimum..just which one?? I will have to read the comments again. good info. Thank you

Yeah Ding126.
A lot of people here are sharing what they know.
kinda put together a creative idea or some goals. Then, You just need a little time and a note pad to make note as you read. Whenever I find a product to review, I look it up in Amazon, add to my cart and then save for later. That helps me go back when I am ready to research it
keep updating your design and goals and when in door just ask. If nothing else, these guys know a lot and can get you in the right direction
Share what you find too. It’s fun and makes what you are doing better documented and you meat some good people
