6.7 Diesel
Crew ran it out of fuel.
I put 5 gallons in it and after several trys it started.
But now theres a screen coming up that says "Low Fuel Pressure" and the Check engine light is on?
Anyone else have this happen or any ideas appreciated.
You'll want to figure out if it was the pump being damaged or something like crappy fuel, clogged filter, sensor etc.. sooner rather than later, otherwise it could be an expensive mistake your crew made. Good luck, hopefully it's something harmless
If it runs full it up and run it. Shut it off after a bit and the low fuel pressure should stop unless the pump is damaged. The only time mine displayed low fuel pressure was when it gelled up when it was -35f the first winter I got it. Ran for about ten seconds then puked out and low fuel pressure showed up. Filters looked like crisco.
Both the low pressure and CEL lights could have been from when you tried starting it after adding the fuel. If this is the case, record the codes in the ECM and then reset them to see if they come back. If they do, then you've likely got something more serious going on.
Next time I would suggest cycling the ignition several times before starting to allow the fuel pump to prime the system, get the air out, etc.
