Engine compartment light
Spot where it just fits. Close to passenger battery so wiring was easy with an in=line fuse
Reel and built in switch visible.
I've been looking for one of those lights myself. I had some LED grid lights leftover from another project that I installed under the hood. I didn't expect them to last a week in underhood conditions but that was 4 years ago.
When I bought them they came with an adapter that fit the stock bulb socket. A few feet of wire was all I needed.

They are mounted on the angled area, pointing down and in toward the engine, canceling out a good amount of shadow. They are held on with the double-sided tape that was already on the lights.

This has been extremely helpful when re-installing a blown boot on the side of the highway at night.
As nice as it is to have this, a retractable light would be an added bonus for lighting up specific areas.
