I have been using this for the last 3 years. Napa always has it on sale around this time.

I went to my local NAPA and they had Rotella T6 5w40 on sale for $22 for a gallon. They also had T4 10w30 on sale for just under $16 for a gallon. Wanted to give these a shot.

I've been running MC 10w30 for the life of the truck. I'm going to save the 5w40 for next year for the warm weather and winter will be here as I'm almost half way through my last oil change.

So I don't know if I'm going to try the Triax 10w30 blend that I've had first or the T4. We shall see. Definitely will sample them though.

I have always run 5-40 in my diesels (7.3,6.0,6.4 and now 6.7). I think its a great viscosity range for towing and cold/hot climates. I really liked the Mobil 1 5W-40 diesel oil but its not on the approved list for the 6.7 for whatever reason. I dont think you can go wrong with any of them if you follow the maintenance schedules.

Yes I let the truck tell me when to change and stick to it. Not sure which one I'll put in when it's time. Thanks.

Triax lists the Ford spec but it's not on the list either. Like Amsoil...

I normally don't, but with the cost of everything nowadays it might be worth it to sample the truck oil at 7k miles or so.

I run Triax 5w-30 in my Suburban and have been happy with it. Might be my imagination but I feel like it quieted the engine a bit.

I’d take the Rotella back to the store lol, but that’s just my opinion on Shell Lubricants

Man... Everybody has such a strong opinion on different oils. Bad experience bro? I'm curious.

I’m sure it’s fine, I’m just not a fan of Rotella, I think there’s a lot better lubricants out there for your money. That being said I normally keep that opinion to myself due to the kickback it usually receives.
