Ok need some help here. Trying to remove the engine wiring harness. Can someone tell me where the harness goes when after the AC compressor? It turns down under the right side of the motor between the compressor and the block and goes back toward the motor mount. Anyone have any idea where that goes? That’s as far as I can trace it. Thanks
It's buried behind the A/C compressor. I have to remove the three bolts holding the compressor to the block to get access to it. The front two bolts, IIRC, are 10mm hex head and the back one is 13mm hex head? The back one is a real PITA!!!! B.
Always disconnect the batteries before beginning this job. FYI - it is easier to unplug the sensor with it in the hole. A 16" ratchet extension and a pivoting adapter, and an 8 mm socket will get you to the bolt holding the sensor in.
As posted above - you can unbolt the A/C compressor to access it more easily, but it is a bit more work that way IMO ...... AND one compressor bolt is at a horrible angle, so if you do .......... BE CAREFUL not to strip it.
Access is a little easier with the radiator removed, but not necessary.
Thanks for all the input. I got the sensor unplugged but can’t seem to pull the harness out. Does it have a clip or some thing that holds it in there? I can’t seem to find a picture of this anywhere.
My Eseries has a clip on the front of the block between that sensor and the AC connector. It just slips onto the edge of the block. Wasn't visible from above until I removed all my pulleys and belts - but I have a dual alt setup.
I did a write up on this and it’s in the tech folder.
Also, when I replaced my harness I routed the wire to the sensor so it was easier to remove. The factory way sucks.

So my wires right at the CKP have lost the shielding and there are exposed wires there now, im having a problem getting the wire out to repair that area. Somewhere its touching the shielding wire cause im getting an ohm reading at the PCM when im using the shielded ground as a ground. How would i go about removing this wire to repair it like people do with the CMP sensor wires?
When I did this job I just loosened the ac compressor. No need to take it out completely. Just enough to pull it to the side to access the cable. Its a big job but not too bad if you just take your time. The ac compressor was probably the most challenging part. Remove the inner fender liner and it becomes much easier.
