I had almost complete loss of power, took 2 miles to get up to 55mph, stuttering but no smoke black or white.. Took the air box off, no dice. I checked thru the entire fuel system, tank to engine and the only thing I found was the M-fuel pump was leaking, so I swapped it out for a new one and still the same thing. Turned out the EBPV was stuck closed, now this is a completely stock truck… including the exhaust so the jet engine was unnoticeable unless you had your ear in the tailpipe!
Took a crow bar, opened it up and she flew like a scolded dog! Hadn’t felt that in a while!
I figure a problem solved here is just as good as a problem unsolved! Lol
Wow good deal. I wonder if thats the problem I have. The EBPV is the the flapper inside the exhaust side of the turbo? Maybe fine is stuck somewhere in between. Im only getting 5 PSI when i stomp on it.
Next step is remove it, but if I’m going to put all that work into the turbo I might as well rebuild the turbo with a 360 bearing, and maybe a wicked wheel or something, and might as well do bellowed up-pipes and plenum inserts and… yeah, that’s how it goes I guess!
I don’t see why not, tho the whole thing is prone to oil leaks so I think that’s the main reason people get rid of them but if it’s not leaking yet then cutting the butterfly out and leaving the shaft should work just fine
