1. What are all the wooden sticks for (suspended on the ceiling)?
2. What is the source of gale force winds inside your garage that inspire you to use a windsock to monitor the force and direction of? (If personal, I'll understand, believe me.)
3. How do you like the type of roll up door you have, as opposed to a sectional type roll up door?

The sticks are Saguaro ribs and they are very a very coveted item with Southwestern artists. I pulled them out of a dumpster when a contractor tore out a rib ceiling and trashed them.
The wind sock is to keep me from walking under the low part of the arm and bashing my forehead open. I had the awning out that day so it could dry.
I love my commercial rollup when it works. I didn't have room on the ceiling for a traditional door and a motorhome. Occasionally the sensors mess up and then I don't love it so much.
I actually added 3 feet onto the front of the garage to accommodate the rollup door when we started looking at RVs. The 3 feet is taller than the rest of the garage and the rollup tucks away up there completely out of the way. (You can see the wing wall there where the original opening with the panel door was, there's support in there for a huge gluelam which we raised as high as possible then re-attached the LPIs)

Clever! I would love to see photos of how you added 3 feet to the front of your garage, and blended that 3 feet architecturally with the existing roof and truss system over the garage, while still bumping up the ceiling height to accommodate the full rolled up wrap of the commercial door.
FTN, if you want us to go outside and talk about this, I can happily move this tangent. Or maybe bigB56 can take the requested photos through his rear view mirror and still be on topic!
I would like to change my residential garage door to a commercial roll up door. You have already done what I've been thinking of doing for years. I'm quite interested in the details. You are welcome to PM me, but maybe other members will be just as intrigued as I am, and would like to see your implementation also.
