Running light wiring

Hello all,

Has anyone ever had to rewire the running lights under the dash on an '85 F350 (might be the same for other years/models)? A while back my tail lights and running lights were no longer working. I looked under the dash and found a wire had come loose out of what appears to be a crimped/fused together bundle of 4 wires with the 5th welded/soldered to it (that one provides the power to the bundle). I don't have a pic of it but plan on taking the dash completely out again to get this permanently fixed. Right now it's connected with electrical tape and hopes and dreams. Does anyone have a solution for this? I want to cut the wires but don't have a way to get the 4 wires into one splice plus the 5th to provide power. If anyone has any ideas that would be very helpful. I suppose I could butt splice wires on the 4 to make them longer then solder them together into one and then butt splice both those into one and then jam the power wire in there somehow. I think there's a better way to do it. I'll add pics as I get the truck apart again.

How about a power strip that would hold all the wires?
Could solider ends on the wires and then screw them to the power strip.
Tape up the strip so it will not short out or maybe a large heat srink over it?

That does look like a good solution. Only question I have is how would I get power to each wire? Would I have to have jumper wires on one side of the block so power get distributed? I've never used one of those before so I'm not familiar on how I would wire one up.

I think some are made that they are all connected but if not run all the wires to 1 side and make little jumper wires to connect them on the other side.
Only a few would have 2 wires to them on the jumper side if they are made the way I think they are.

I see what you're saying. Did a little searching on Amazon and found these: https://amzn.to/3lkmhbD

I think they'll be easier to work with and I'm sure I can find a spot to use the other 3 as well.

Looks like that would work and you would not need to make the jumper wires.
If you felt it may short out to ground you could find a hose (heater?) that it & wire would fit into.
Slip the hose on the wires, add that strip with the cover if it will fit and then slide the hose over the strip and tape in place and should be good to go.
Might look hooky but it should be a good connection and work just fine.
