Question Another camera question

Hello all,
I am generally a reader and rarely post on any forum. My rear tailgate camera (I do NOT have 360) camera either goes blurry, (like the old days when you tried to tune in a tv channel), or mostly dark. I have a 2017 Platinum 350 SRW AWD with the flex step.
I have spent hours looking for a video or instructions on how to simply replace it. (I bought a new one from the dealer), but there are no results. Is there a trick, or does someone have the directions?
I really wanted to use a different brand of camera, but there does not appear to be a choice. Since I am using the factory camera, can I just swap it, or do I need to program something?
My tailgate top trip had warped, so first I siliconed it.....the problem came back. I then replaced the top trip, still have the problem. I am guessing it could be corrosion in the wires, or a lose connection, but I figured I would replace the camera.
My truck just broke 20k miles, but it is no longer under warranty. (I got it in late 2016) . Oddly, my driver mirror has a camera, but my passenger doesn't.
I appreciate all the help.
thanks,
t.

Does anyone have a screenshot of how to remove the camera from a tailgate flex step?
Thanks again,
t.
