So, I have gone through a set of brand new pads on the front driver side of this vehicle in 4 months. I tend to think stuck caliper.
I also have another related situation:
For the last 6 months or so, my dashboard is lit up like a Christmas tree with every brake light and message indicating a problem. People have indicated that this is a generic code, and unfortunately Forscan isn't telling me anything else. On the surface B1342-E0 seems to be a bad ABS ECU. In this case I tend to believe it, because as I recall I pulled up the PIDs for each wheel sensor, and I was able to see on/off data for each sensor.
SO!!!!!!!! My question:
Could there be ANYTHING to do with B1342 that would cause one wheel to burn through a set of brakes. I tend to think no, but I wanted to check with you all for your thoughts on all of this before I proceed.
I had similar problem with my 11 Expedition 4x4 xl. Ended up being bad brake hose on drivers side. After replacing all brake hoses problem solved. After all that 4 months later abs module went bad. I've been told this is rare but just my luck. I found a used abs module and pump assembly on the web for less than $200. New was over $1200. It's been over a year now and all good. Good luck.
