Need some help please, upon replacing my entire front end including brakes I noticed that the abs wheel sensor on the drivers side has 2 spacers (1 steel 1 copper) the passenger side has 3 spacers (2 copper 1steel).... My issue is when applying the brakes it pulls to the left, could the missing spacer cause this?
No it would not. The spacers are there for clearance purposes. Have you checked your rear brakes? They can also cause you to have a pull. As can your alignment being off.
A bad tire on the front axle can also cause a pull while braking.
I had that issue on my old 1995 F-150. I had rotated the tires and found a pull to the right while braking. Took the vehicle in for a check. The mechanic said brakes and alignment were good, but that the pull was something called "Radial pull". The mechanic moved the offending tire to the rear axle and the issue went away.
I have not checked the rear brakes yet (Will today) but after i purchased new tires I had an alignment done as well.... Still stumped... Was thinking maybe a bad caliper in which case I will replace all 4 along with rotors...
Are you hearing any noise from the ABS system pulsing? I damaged an ABS sensor on my drivers side front when I pulled it out to grease. The bad sensor caused the ABS to kick in on that wheel and pull hard to left when braking.(under 15mph) I have never encountered ABS sensors with spacers under them. The ABS sensor is engineered and made the proper length to read the tone ring in the wheel bearing unit.
I'm not hearing any noise and really only pulls hard to the left at a higher rate of speed (Above 45 MPH) I can't really say they are "Spacers" even though that's what I called them, more like shims, and both sides have them... they are about .001-.003 thick (Copper) and the steel is .005..... I am going to replace all 4 calipers (I know over kill) but I am stumped now with no other options
