JB, If I am understanding your question. That's because its a red truck in 52. As far as Ive researched it, 51 was blue on badging and hubcaps. 52 was red on hubcaps and badging no matter the color of the truck. I dont think they would have mismatched the color of the hubcaps with the body moldings. In other words they would have matched.

Makes sense, the green one in your picture also has red.

Which is why I personally love a 1952 Meadow Green Truck cause of the color accenting being Red. The red is also very specific color not just a generic red it's a unique color.
JB, I believe your 52 is red body color with red badges and red hubcaps isn't it? I know your theme is kinda red and black.
I do not know what the correct red paint is for the 52-56 hubcap letters. Do you think it would be the vermilion body color?
I had a NOS F1 Hood badge and I just matched the paint to that for the hubcaps and the badges that I got re-chromed. If your hubcap on the wall is NOS then that would be a good place to start. For whatever reason the red color used in 53-56 seems to be more consistent with what you'd think of as a normal generic red color much like the vermillion. The red they used in 52 was a little different. I thought I remember reading somewhere is was called Torch Red in 52?
My hub cap on he wall is not NOS. It is used but is in great shape and the letter paint doesn't appear to be faded much. I'll have to compare that one with the red I used on the hubcaps on my truck.
52, could you share the color name and brand of the paint you used for your hood trim? I recently purchased a hood badge for a six cylinder 52. It's in pretty good shape, but it doesn't have any of the red accents it's supposed to have. The red accents are missing on my other hood trim pieces as well. Hub caps too for that matter. Thanks!
I did the same, matched to a nos hood emblem and found a can of farm paint at tractor supply that was spot on. I think it is a IH red color but not sure.

hi Jim, it was one shot lettering enamel. I mixed it up custom from a few different colors that’s what I do. I believe I have some leftover. How much do you need? I can send you a bit in a little tiny testor sized jar or two if you think that’s enough? PM me.
Lots of interesting information here. Thanks to all of you. I think I'm going to put the one on the left and the best of the other three on my garage wall.
Someone running the script hubcaps on an old school hot rod once told me that they were passenger car, and one year only but I can't remember the year. 1942 maybe?
Abe, working on my 52 F-1 and I took am looking for hubcaps.
From the discussion that was going on S/s vs. painted, the 52 would have had a painted cap. All the repo ones are S/S.
Would you buy a S/S cap, have it sandblasted and then painted. Looking for suggestion.
