Phone holders…

While I’m planning on using google maps through CarPlay I still need somewhere for my phone to mount. I don’t want a vent holder or anything that mounts to my windshield. What’s everyone sporting for mounts? I’m considering this one:

I just recently put that one in my 2017. Have my phone, a CB microphone holder, my Furrion monitor for the trailer cameras & my Garmin 1090RV mounted on it. Rock solid. Works great. It will get transferred to my 2022 when it comes in.

Tom N OH do you have a picture showing how you laid that out on that mount? I have the same Furrion monitor and Garmin 1090RV and have been playing around with where to hang everything. TIA

I’ve only got this one pic at the moment. I can take more later if you need to see better. The empty mounting ball is the one that the Furrion monitor is mounted to. Had to order a 20mm-22mm adapter ball from 67designs for that. Also had to get a mounting arm from 67designs to fit the 20mm ball on the Bulletpoint mount & the 1” ball on the Garmin.

Not trying to hijack your thread OP, just expanding on it a bit...
Sounds like the mounting ***** that come with the bracket from BulletPoint are all 20mm? Does the Furrion monitor sit higher than the Garmin or is just angled toward the driver behind the Garmin?

The Garmin is aimed toward the passenger seat for the navigator’s convenience. The Furrion monitor is pretty much straight where both of us can see it. We have the rear & both side view cameras on the trailer & added the “door” camera in the bed of the truck, directly over the LH fender well to give a better view of the gooseneck ball to hook up the Goosebox.

The ***** included with the Bulletpoint are both 20mm. I added 2 of the 2 bolt ***** in between the included *****. If you angle them just right, you just have to team one hole out a bit. (Side note: the drill bits that they sent with the mount are cheap junk.)

I'm looking at the Bulletpoint page on Amazon and it doesn't look like the two included ***** can be moved around but two would get me started. I guess I would need a second arm for my 7" Furrion monitor and the appropriate ball adapters though. Doesn't look like the arms are extendable either but it looks like your Garmin clears the dash. That Garmin 1090RV does have a big screen - nice for using but a bit much to fit somewhere. Thanks Tom! Adding stuff to my wish list now!

My guess on the drill bits is they are just for drilling the plastic top tray. A nice touch but limited functionality.

That one is a little too pricey for me.

I did this one today, think I've got $5 in it.

The phone clamp came off amazon, and the mounting tab is just a piece of flat aluminum bar stock that I drilled and it's attached to the console bin opening wall with some 3M mounting tape. This is just the one I had in my old RAM, works fine, and is adjustable, rotates to hold the phone upright if I want.

The 2 included ***** stay where they are, but there are slots in the bracket that allow the addition of more mounting *****. Like I said before, if you order the 2 bolt ***** & angle them appropriately, you just have to drill out 1 hole & you can fit a total of 4 ***** on the bracket as seen in my picture. The arms are not extendable, you just have to order the arms in whatever length you need.

Other options

I wasn’t aware that the ***** were not moveable. I’m also looking at this mounting bracket and purchasing RAM mounting hardware (https://www.builtrightind.com/collec...17-f-250-f-350)

A question about the spring holder. Is it hard to get the phone in and out? Can a phone be put in or removed one handed? I was thinking about getting the bulletpoint magnet mount.
