Fixing parking brake

Hello,
1-So I took of parking brakes shoes off and grind them (from inside) to to point they are shiny metal color.
I also grinded the upper grove where shoe rests.. and lever make push on brakes... Problem is front side shoe goes in and out of upper grove
smoothly.. while rear side shoe get stuck and and if I have to push hard to bring it out.
Should it tab on the surface where side of shoe sits to make more space..

2-I found when I engage the parking brake driver side cable gets pulled a whole lot.
But the extension cable which goes to passenger side do not feel the pull.. is there any way to adjust or shorten the cable ?

Thank you

So I got new shoes. For a bit now.. I had driver side shoe/hardware removed. And I was able to put the lever to all the way to the floor almost.
Even then passenger side e-brake wont engage.

After I put new shoe in, lever only goes half way down. At that point driver side wheel gets locked rock solid.
But passenger side e-brakes stays lose.. its not getting enough pull from the cable.

To me it looks like cable which goes to passenger side is a bit longer then what it supposed to be. I wonder how I can fix it.

I think when mechanic certified the truck and put new cables in I think he missed some thing.
1 goes through 3.
2 goes through 4
1 connected to 2 via clip in the picture.
When brake is engaged or cable is pulled.... it pulls whole clip to wards front of the truck... that create pull on 2...4 resists .. as a result pull is passes on to lever on driver side ebrake.
Driver side ebrake is works and locks solid.

PROBLEM:
When brake is engaged or cable is pulled... clip and 3 moves forward as whole. .. you can see in 5 there nothing created resistance...and keeping black cover in place so cable inside can move.
When I pull the cable or engage the brake... there is almost zero pull on passenger side lever/brake.

.

come on.. some one must have seen this before?

So after little bit of thinking I came up with this idea. With coat hanger cable. I restricted clip to go any further then 2 inches. 2 inches was the pull need for driver side brake to engage full.
What do you know.. now brake lever could go much further down.. and cable from 5(above) and B here .. started coming out after pull on "C" stops because of coat hanger..... and I think now passenger side brake would engage.. It was raining so I could not much time out side.

All that tells me there must be one part missing in the cabling hardware/accessories....Cant find any such looking thing on rockauto.. so I will go junk yard and see what I find.
