Fuel injector madness!
Fuel injector madness!
Ok so here’s my story:
I own a 2018 F-450 6.7 4x4 SD. The truck currently has 62,500 miles.
Just as a matter of record, I change oil at 5K miles, fuel filters about every 10K miles, and avoid biodiesel like the plague. This is also my third 6.7 SD since 2013.
My problem is fuel injectors. I have now replaced 4 of them. Replacement as follows:
8.19.19 (25,651 miles) cylinder #1
6.16.21 (60,309 miles) cylinder #2
7.9.21 (61,127 miles) cylinder #3
8.20.21 (61,334 miles) cylinder #4
Consecutive cylinders seems kind of weird too, right??
At the time of the third injector failure, Ford advised: a) Fuel contamination test, b) Fuel pump pressure test, c) Remove and inspect VCV. c) Check cylinder compression. These all checked out okay and within specifications.
After replacement of 4 injectors (3 this summer!) the Dealer and I are running out of ideas, but I’m losing confidence in this truck.
Anyone have any suggestions on how best to proceed??

The dealer and Ford have a duty to repair your truck. That is according to an agreement they made with you in your warranty. If they are having issues, the dealer and Ford need to try harder. It is not your responsibility to properly diagnose or research the failure.
A couple months back, another member had this problem with sequential injector failures. I don't recall that he ever closed the loop with how the problems were resolved. It would be worth your while to search for that thread so you can see the scope of his problems and the suggestions.
