In our pursuit to improve the steering on these trucks we eventually replace everything but one key part, the steering shaft.
Borgeson makes a beautifully manufactured steel steering shaft which eliminates the rag joint (rubber disc joint). The rag joint among other pieces in the steering shaft allows for a certain amount of play in the steering.
With that said, if you want to replace the OE steering shaft with an aftermarket Borgeson steering shaft, then click the video link below for a full, in-depth install. Also included in the video is where to cut the shaft because it does need to be shortened.
Not sure why you'd ban the guy. The videos he puts together don't have much value to me personally, but he has a whole bunch of videos that I'm sure would help a guy that doesn't have the first clue how to do a bunch of these smaller jobs. The post every time a new video is released is a little much though.

Sorry Treacy but it is made by our covid friends in CHINA.
There is no rag joint in either of the Borgeson steering shafts I have purchased. Both of them have had universal joints on both ends.
If the reason for posting these how to videos is only for the potential to profit from people viewing them then that should be a reason. The OP does no post any other time except to promote a new video.

When I bought mine it said made in China. I think the components OTHER than the shaft are made in China. You only see Borgeson Brand on those parts, not where they are MADE. The shafts say made in the USA. I really want to buy our products but I bought the Borgeson to fix my truck and I can live with the China stuff when it is the last resort. I am still very pleased with my Borgeson product and don't regret the purchase regardless of where it is made.
