I was able to finish up a longtime want so I have some gauges that help me diagnose any problems (I have idiot lights). Topside is temp, oil, and volts, side is vacuum and USB ports.
I plan to drive this a lot so I would need to charge an iPhone! The vac gauge is hidden because honestly, how often do you look at vac.
base was a center console from an ‘08 Ford out of the junkyard. Used plastic corrugated board to make the shape then about 5 layers of fiberglass.
I used the original shift boot and ring after modification of the donor console and then another junkyard boot in its place to seal off the hole in the floor. Lots of fitment tries to ensure I could still get the transfer case in all the gears.
Thats looks pretty damn good and obviously functional. What 2008 Ford did you take it out of?
Im not 100% sure, but I just kept looking for a Ford that had a shifter in the console. I literally just hopped from truck to truck. It was actually kind of hard to find as most are the column shift

think the USB sticking out the side would be better on the passenger side as I think your foot will hit it when going for the throttle.
My USB charger is in the cig lighter socket in the ash tray of my 81 F100
I can even close the ash tray so just the wire is sticking out and at shows I pull the wire and stick it in the glove box or under the seat so it cant be seen.
