I'm going to replace vent windows on my '60 F-100. I did some searches here but didn't find much in the way of tips on how to remove the old glass from the frame and install the new glass.
@randowe suggests using an innertube to make the rubber strip to set the glass into the frame: link
Mac's has Window Glass Installation Tape for $9.99: link
LMC (where I'm buying the new windows) doesn't seem to carry it.
It looks like I could use RTV silicon to bed the new glass into the frame instead.
Any tips/suggestions would be welcome. I'm perfectly happy to take the old frames/glass to a glass shop and have them put the new glass in, but I'm not sure it that's something that they do on a regular enough basis to be a good idea. If you've had a glass shop do this, what did they charge?
