Body/Frame Cable

Hey, can anyone tell me what this is? I pulled the bed off my 1999 F250 Super Duty to fix some frame rust. I got the usual bolts, wires, fuel fill detached, but also found a cable like the one in the photo, one on each side, which I cut off. It's not electrical or grounding because it attaches at only one place and loops up from the frame through the body and back. The only think I could think of was it may be some kind of safety device to hold the bed on in case all the bolts rust off?? Any ideas?? I'm guessing I don't have to replace them.

I had two 2000 F350 and one was my work truck that I removed the box to install a utility box when new and no such cable was there so I would say that it was added. It could be someone had a power winch or road sander for winter in the box and needed a better ground. Ford wouldn't have mounted a ground on a hanger bolt it would have been by itself.

Agreed, this doesn't look factory. Grounds are something the auto industry takes very seriously, and other than tying several grounds together they aren't shared with any other device like a hanger or a bracket. They're stand-alone studs/bolts.
