Looking for new headlights for my F550, I quite like the look of these...
Has anyone got them?
Do they mount using the OEM adjusters?
They're listed for 99-04 so I'm assuming that they don't need the header to be cut.
What is the light output like?
I've got an awesome set of lights on my F350 that I had built a few years ago, but they required some work to sort out the alignment which is why I'd prefer to go plug & play this time.
I'm curious about this as well. I'm not really into the halos, but could definitely use better than stock light where I drive.
IIRC I also came across a link on here to some place that sold premade HID retrofits for our trucks. I seem to recall that it was a forum member that did them and he also did LED taillights among other things.

I had a set built by someone here, the quality was great but there were issues with beam alignment. If I wasn't the other side of the Atlantic I'd have sent them back...
Well I went and found the link I saved to those others again and it was 05-07 style headlights anyway. Made by All Out Industries, aka forum member "Whiteout FX4". I think I'd rather stick with pre 05 headlights unless I decided to update the grill and bumper as well.
I'll probably update to the '02+ lenses or something like you posted above. The 02+ have a reflector based diffusion (light scattering) and clear lens, rather than lens based diffusion like the 99-01. In other vehicles I've found that the first works better.
Of course a good projector setup works better than either, so hope we hear from someone that has used those.

I have ordered a set of these Spyder 05 07 lights.
Couldn't find anything I liked in 99 04. Knew I was going to have to modify stuff anyway as I have sealed beam style lights, so
I actually looked at the style you posted but I felt the light looked too boxy for my tastes. Also felt these would go better with the 05 07 raptor style grille I ordered.
Still a couple of weeks away from getting them to me unfortunately so can't comment on wiring or fitments etc.
Although im not 100% convinced on the round halos I can leave them not wired up if need be and just have the swooping DRL on underneath if I choose. Will wait and see when they are on the Truck.
@AuF250 have your lights been installed yet? I'm interested in how they perform.....what the light output is compared to the original & do they have a flat dip beam, I'm in the UK so need this too.

@Shovelheadrob no mate they are sitting in my lounge room waiting. I received them start of last week after waiting ages for them. Shipping delays due to Covid.
I cant wait to fit them up which will be hopefully soon. Im aiming within the next week or 2. Issue is I need to take off the steel bullbar to fit the new 05-07 grille at the same time. Bit tough on my own due to the weight but doable.
First of all they were packaged great from Spyder, so I must highlight that. Upon initial inspection I have found the build quality to be pretty good. The sealant used is pretty even all round. The wires seem pretty decent. The globes they fitted are Osram . The sockets are all of a decent quality and fitment. So it's not bottom of the parts bin crap if you get what I mean.
The adjustment screws do up and down , left and right. I have seen some aftermarket lights with just up and down.
I can wire the Halos up seperate to the other DRL or not at all if I wish. I like that.
It's all pretty straight forward as far as wiring goes. According to the manual, all black wires are grounds, rest are power wires. Inlike it when a manufacturer does something logical. The headlights will work via original harness and an adapter.
By the looks of it the original turn signal globe will fit direct into the available socket in the new light (the one with the green and yellow wire coming out). Dont quote me on that til I fit it up though .
Run the DRL however you see fit to comply with your local regulations. I will have mine switch on with ignition. Halos I will probably run off of a switch depending on how I like them and brightness.
Once I get them installed I will report back with pic of the cut off and initial impressions.
Sorry its upside down. Dont know what happened Main globe harness is the black red and white coming from the plug. Green yellow and black is the socket that the turn signal should go into. Rest is for DRL and Halo lights. Globes fitted are Osram halogens. Inwill more than likely switch them out for LED globes once Inget the install sorted.
Thanks for the update, I'm not in a rush to get the lights changed, I stuck some led bulbs in to get the original lights working (they were available next day & halogens took nearly two weeks) in order to pass inspection & I'm actually surprised how much of an improvement over the stock light output they are, they don't mess with the beam pattern much either so don't dazzle oncoming traffic. They will suffice for this winter. But I will switch to the later style at some point, I still can't find out if the Recon lights are plug & play, I did enquire with the manufacturer but didn't get a reply......
A partial update, the Recon lights are not a direct bolt in, the header requires trimming, probably not as much as to fit the 05-07 lights but as I'd left my multi tool at work (not expecting to need it) it's now a job for next weekend. Recon don't supply any kind of installation instructions or template/guide for cutting so it will be a bit of trial and error. They mount using the original holes & clips at the top & the usual screws behind the bumper. I was hoping for a bit better from Recon especially at that price point.......
