I'm looking into replacing my OEM headlights with some 1-piece headlights from Anzo. They are pretty cool looking, but was wondering if the manufacturer's claim is true, that there are no modifications necessary.
Any other thoughts on different headlights? I'd like your input (AND PICTURES IF YOU HAVE!)
Sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean actual LED headlight bulbs, but either a projector lamp assembly or similar with LED marker lights/light strips.
I was just wondering if anybody has those installed... would like to see some install pics, instead of the manufacturers pics.
I bought some Ebay lights 3 years ago thinking I would have better visability but after 3 years they are yellow and they worked no better than the stock ones did. I was going to put my stock ones back on but some employee of mine appearantly needed a right hand side assy so now its gone......

IMO, cheaper to buy aftermarket headlight bulbs and LED marker light bulbs. That's what I did. 20 bucks for the headlights and 10 bucks for a pair of 19 LED marker/turnsignal bulbs.
I just bought some dual halo projector headlights with leds. My mechanic and I spent 9 hours trying to figure out how to put them in, but I cannot get them to fit. I've been looking everywhere online for info or other people that have tried to install them. All the one piece aftermarket headlights seem to have the same design, so they have to work, but I CANNOT figure it out. Any suggestions?
I did what Baji did - haven't added them to the gallery but here's a few shots. The old style are in the gallery photos still. This after having bought two sets off of ebay, led type and projector. Neither put out any more light than the one's I replaced. Now with the HIDS things are good. Took us about 2 years to get it right but I refused to drive the truck at night until this got done.

Reason: mis-spoke about what was in my gallery....sorry.
Those are the exact lights I was looking at... Anzo makes those, right?
Did you guys have any problems fitting them on the "old" style (99-04) front?
That's what I was original sceptical...
What kind of bulbs are you using with these lights (9005) BEFORE upgrading to the HID? What HID did you install? Digital?
Also, did you guys hook the LED light strip to the parking light? That's what I was thinking of... and should be as simple as stripping the parking light wire and connecting the LED strip, right???
I'd love to go all HID, but it adds up quickly in the pocket book as well...
Thanks for any info you can share...
Oh yeah... where did you buy them from? Good/bad experience?
I know there are more than a few online dealers out ther offering those lights for a huge variety of prices.
I went to town on my headlight bar this yesterday and managed to get them in! Thanks for the tip Shakin! I love the dual halos with projectors. Next to come will be the full 6000k HIDs! I'll try to get some pics up soon.
I've had the 'projector' style aftermarket lenses in other applications, mostly just plastic chinese junk. Even if they put out more usable lite, they are often difficult to fit and aim and generally look like poo after a couple years.
I put '05-'07 headlites in my F350 recently. I still think the '03 clear lens w/relay harness and Hella 80/100 bulbs put out more usable lite. One big problem is stock harness routes small (18ga?) wire from fuse block all the way up into steering column and then to lites - often a 2v drop!! A relay harness that takes power straight from battery to headlites (10ga wire) solves this and makes a VERY noticeable difference. I get my relay harnesses ($70ish?) and Hella bulbs ($30ish/pair!) from rallylites.com - great folks too.
If ya need more light than that, add additional lites!! These are aircraft landing lites - OMG, are they brite and focused. They made the road signs reflection annoying!! Wish they worked on my new bumper...
Another bitch about the '05-'07 is the 9008/H13 bulb has tiny pins to connect to harness. High wattage bulbs not recommended. They do have a nice, broad lite pattern with stock-type bulbs though..
Okay, now this brings me to a totally new question, while I'm seeing all those pics...
How did you guys install an '07 grill on a '99-'04 Excursion?
What kind of modifications did you have to do?
How difficult was the install?
Now you got me all excited and fired up about some mods!
I guess I'll have to decide this soon, before ordering any new headlights - which still brings me back to my original question about the LED light strip lights you guys installed...
Were they a perfect fit, or did you have to do any modifications/cutting/dremeling/etc.?
How did you hook up the LED light strip? Parking lights?
