I installed an oil bypass filter kit from Sinister Diesel on my 2006 E-350 6.0 PSD about two months ago. It’s now time for my first post-installation oil change and I have a couple questions.
1) As I cannot find an Amsoil EABP 100 filter available anywhere online, would a 90 or 110 model work? Any reason NOT to use a 90 or 110? If it’s ok, should I use the 90 or the 110? Space isn’t an issue.
2) I read in one place, which I cannot now remember, that you only need to replace the bypass filter every THIRD oil change. Is that a recommended practice?
You are correct, the EaBP100-EA is out of stock from the factory. I got an e-mail from them a few days ago about this. They are "hoping" to have them back in stock by the end of this month, August 2021. So I bought the EaBP90 instead.
The service interval for the EaBP90 is; 60k miles OR 600 hours OR 2 years. Which ever of the three comes up first. B.
Anytime Sir. The by-pass filter is designed to siphon off 10% of the oil that is circulating through the engine. So those filter's last quite a bit of time. B.
