Where is the PCM located?

I have a '97 XLT Lariat that I am wanting to do some mods on and I need to find out which PCMC I have and where its located.

4.6 (hopefully soon to be 5.4 from dead Cobra)
Green over tan

no mods yet....still has the rubber silencer but engine was replaced 3k ago from knock.....

the pcm is located on the passenger side kickpanel. the pcm will have a sticker on it to identify what model it is: usually three letters followed by a number....for example mine is IMP4. To remove it you have to go into the engine compartment on the firewall and unscrew the harness connector, then go inside the truck unloosen the top and bottom mounting bolts and it will pull right out. I just removed mine to put a chip in it.....hope this helps.
