Where is the voltage reg. located ? I assume it under the dash some where, which is where I found the ignition control mod. , but I can't seem to it.

On my 1970 it is on the inside of the drivers fender, visible when you tilt the cab and look over from the passenger side.

There's no such thing as an F700 cabover. It could be a C700 = C Series Tilt Cab, the front of the cab is as flat as Kansas.

1981 thru today: The VIN contains 17 digits. What are the 6th, 7th and 8th digits?

Yup, I translated it to a C series when I replied.. it seems that all trucks are "F" series to many - it don't matter B, C, L, LN, N they are all "F" series... lol

Which makes it hard to find a real C on craigslist when there are no pics.... Or I imagine it drove you crazy looking up parts for people!

To the OP, did you ever find the voltage regulator on YOUR truck?

Yes I did find it, right where you said. Thanks a lot for the help. I don't think I ever would have found it.

Sounds great, did the voltage regulator fix the charging issue?
