On my 2019, it was the hood latch switch, which I confirmed with a multimeter. I pulled the latch assembly, so I could get better access to the switch and sprayed it with electrical cleaner, while working the switch. It’s been good for about 9 months. It’s a shame you can’t replace the switch, without replacing the entire latch.

I got tired of this happening to me constantly, the lack of it defaulting to perimeter only, and it kept being annoying on shutdown and giving me problems selecting it. I pulled the roof console down, unplugged the sensors, and put it back. I don't live in an area with theft so I'm happy with it.

Yeah I got the hood latch issue too but if I jiggle/press in the connector there it sometimes goes away for awhile.

Anyway to just shut this off in Forscan? I really don’t want to mess with it and dont need it.

Alarm issue solved for me

Solved for me. 2024 F250 Lariat 7.3 gas.
My alarm would go off randomly; sometimes seconds after I locked the doors, sometimes after hours or days. Often repeated several times a day, occasionally in excess of 12 times. Drove me bonkers. I eventually learned if I manually turned off the interior motion sensor using the touch screen after each engine/computer cycle, it would not happen. Did that for months. Finally took it to the dealer. They ran diagnostics & found voltage to the interior intrusion sensor would peak & drop, causing the false alarms. They ordered & installed a new sensor under warranty last week; I haven't had the problem since and no longer have to manually turn the sensor off each cycle. Hope this helps. My writeup is attached.

seems to still be an issue with the 2024s. It has happened randomly and today it happened theee times in an hour. Turn the truck around and seemed to have fixed the problem today. Maybe camera issues or the sun hitting a sensor. It sure

I had thoughts about a shadow going across the seats, setting it off. My truck sits facing a security light, with bats flying around the light at night. I wondered if they cast a shadow inside the truck that the sensors were picking up.

I've had the moth problem a couple times. Most recently we were in Key West getting alarm after alarm.

My wife normally sits in the back seat with our toddler in the car seat. She uses a small rechargeable fan when it's hot and had left it on.

Resurrecting an old thread, but the problem came back. Last December, I pulled the hood sensor and cleaned the switch, and the problem went away…..until yesterday. I walked out of Lowe’s and thought, “Some idiot’s alarm is going off.” Yep, it was mine. I was thinking about how much troubleshooting I’d have to do to fix it, but when I started the truck, I got the message “ Hood Ajar”. Well, that saves some troubleshooting. I guess I’ll bite the bullet and order a new latch, since you can’t buy the switch without the latch.

Cut the switch wires off, then crimp them together.

Worked on mine.

Yeah, I think that’s what I’ll do. I drove a F150 for 20 years without a hood switch.

This works, but be sure to tell any mechanics you leave the truck with that you’ve done it. For them, an open hood ensures some yo-yo can’t accidentally (or maliciously) remote start the truck using the FordPass app while they’re working on it. By crimping the wires together this safety feature is disabled and they’ll have to use other means to ensure no remote starts.

2022 DTE ForScan Change

I am reviving this thread with a question. I have a 2022 6.7 short bed and have had a 55 gallon Titan tank for about a year. I have changed the 720-03-01 with the 8 22 per the spreadsheet but have had no change to the DTE on the dash gage. As seen in the image, am I also required to change the 720-09-01 (see highlighted cell) to make the change work? I'm a bit confused. Many thanks in advance!

I think you somehow landed in the wrong thread.

I did. Apologies. That's what I get for having multiple screens open.
