Mine also tripped a few times when my oem batteries were fading. Guessing some electrical glitch. More times than not it's a bug of some sort has been my experience as well.
I had the vehicle erratic alarm issue a while back, and it turned out to be a tree frog in the cab that hid when I was using the truck and came out later.
I do wish it was easier to switch off the interior sensors, and keep them off until you chose to re-engage them, instead of having to disable them each time you shut the truck off.
As stated in the post above yours, that would be required on every exit. It does not save that setting through multiple key cycles.
I read the post as it was in the ask on exit setting. That was how my truck was delivered. Changes made here have been staying for me. Another option if they aren't for others is to change via Forscan

Ok, nice that it works in your truck. There have been many owners who find that with each cycle the alarm setting reverts back to all sensors. Even after making the selection to perimiter only in the settings. I haven't read of a Forscan fix, is that in the spreadsheets? Some have gone as far as unplugging the overhead sensors for a more long lasting solution.

I have not done the change as I haven't needed to, but members on the Tremor forum have and say that it works.
Simple enough. That thread also illustrates the fact that there are many of these trucks that revert to all sensors even after being set to perimiter only in the settings. Otherwise that thread wouldn't even exist, or the need to use Forscan. I do wonder what it is that's different about yours that makes it retain the setting you choose.
So the alarm started randomly going off this evening for some unknown reason. Took the dogs out there, searched all around. Nothing triggered. Went inside, alarm goes off again. Go outside. Shut off the alarm, lock the truck back up. I’m standing there, alarm goes off. Keeps going off intermittently now all night. Going to have to leave it unlocked but does anyone know why the alarm would do this?
The bug possibility is always there, but my truck and others have shown a propensity for the alarm to trigger that cannot be attributed to bugs, especially in Pennsylvania in the winter. Dealer could not fix yet.
But there's NO reason the sensors should be so sensitive the a bug could set it off. Bugs get into vehicles all the time. It's what they do. And Ford should account for this... you shouldn't have to worry about bugs setting off your vehicle alarm.
I just connected with this forum and was searching for entries regarding my 2018 alarm going off occasionally. I see the entries regarding bugs in the cab. I discount this because it is December in Anchorage, AK with temp ranges now between +5 and +15 deg F. I also see questions regarding issues with hood alarms. I occasionally see an alarm on my console saying by hood is not secure. Can this message cause a parked truck alarm to turn on? If not, what else can cause my alarm to randomly go off?

Thanks for any usefull responses.

As I posted above (somewhere) - my hood latch was the culprit. A change in temperature seemed to make the latch sensor make and break contact. I also had the "hood" warning on the dash when driving sometimes, even though the hood was securely latched. A bit of an adjustment and I have not had the issue again.
